Pinned Image
The original pin from this amazing blog
The other night at work, we just happened to have a very s.l.o.w. night and there were a lot of breaks and talking about Pinterest. One of the girls had just made this lotion and shared it with all of us. We were all passing it around and using it on our legs. They were so amazingly soft and shiny I just knew I had to make some too!!
This is what I used
16oz Baby lotion
8oz Vitamin E cream
8oz Coconut Oil
Cute jars to put it in
I made it just like a cake!  Put all the ingredients in a bowl, mix and spoon into jars.
The coconut oil should not be melted or it will separate out of the lotion when it hardens.  So, the lotion will have small bits of the coconut oil throughout, just massage it in!

Cute jar, bad picture
I read somewhere on a blog or pinterest about painting a box white and using it to take your pictures...I think I also need natural light and a tutorial on how to use my camera!!  The darn flash, I can never get it right.  It's either too bright or not bright enough, very seldom do I get the right in between!

Lindsay...I know you're reading this...did you link-up??  If not, GO DO IT NOW!!!

Saw it, Pinned it, Did it

This is my pin I planned to make...
Pinned Image

I plan on using it for a jewelry stand!!
I bought 3 trays and 2 candle sticks at the Dollar Tree
1st, I hot glued one candle stick to the bottom tray
I then glued the next tray to the top of the candle stick and glued the second candle stick on that tray.

I was planning on using this in the bathroom first and was going to paint the candle sticks and mod podge scrapbook paper on the trays.  When I decided to use it for jewelry I thought leaving it plain would be better!

Saw it, Pinned it, Did it {Week 4}

Today I'm linking up with Stephanie & Katie for
For this weeks project, I wanted to do something Christmas.  I haven't been able to find a Christmas tree skirt that would match my decorations so I thought I could just make one.  I had seen these ruffle skirts and wanted to do something like it.  I went to Hobby Lobby and the rolls of deco mesh ribbon were 50% off and I just couldn't pass that stuff up!

So I ended up doing a little something different....
I started with a $5 red tree skirt from Target
I bought 3 different colors of the 21inch deco mesh rolls
I started with the green and would bunch some and safety pin it to the skirt and I did this all the way around with the green.
Then I did the pink roll the same way.
And then I finished with the red.
I think it looks way better in person than in the pictures and I can't wait to see it around my tree!!!

Thanks for the link-up girls!!!
This has been my favorite project yet!!!

Saw it. Pinned it. Did it. {Week 2}

Today, I'm linking up with Steph & Katie
So I wanted to make this, but in my own way.

Pretty!!
Unfortunately, there is not a link to it, just a picture on Pinterest.
So I started with a 16x20 canvas
(I bought a pack of 2 for $7.99 at HobLob)
Then I painted it grey, it took several coats.
(you know how much I love grey!!)
I bought a book of scrapbook paper that was different patterns but coordinated.  I then cut out several different sizes of "petals" and ended up cutting more after I laid them out on the canvas.
I glued each one to the canvas in the spot I wanted and let that dry.
I then put on 3 coats of ModPodge, letting each coat dry before putting on another.
I ended up with this.
I'm rather happy with it.
Now, only if I could decide where to hang it.

Can't wait to find another project to do for next week!!
I'm thinking something Christmas.....
