Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday
I was scheduled to work today but was on standby for most of the day.  I was not feeling well at all the past two days and the extra sleep helped me.  I woke up from that extra couple hours of sleep and felt much better although, food still didn't sound good.  I met Niki out so I could sit with the sleeping baby in the car while she got some grocery shopping done since we were expecting some snow and super cold weather this weekend.  We finished up shopping and then went to hang out at her house.  I got caught up on SOA since they were ahead of me. 

Saturday
I wasn't planning on going anywhere today so I watched more SOA and waited for the bad weather to get here.

Sunday
It was still raining when I got up a little before 8 but it quickly switched to an icy mix then snow.  At least I was able to get all of my Christmas decorations and tree put away and my house back to normal.  Every year I want to decorate more and more and then when I have to put it away I'm kicking myself for putting so much out! 

A little hot chocolate was called for on this snowy cold day!

This was on Monday when I headed to work that next morning!  Way to cold for me!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday

So the ice started yesterday, going for about 12 hours, then the snow started.  I woke up to about 6 inches of snow and it wasn't stopping anytime soon.  I was so glad I got to go to my nail appointment yesterday and my hair appointment that was scheduled for today got moved to yesterday.

So that night I thought about trying to get to my friends house.  I was able to back down my driveway and that was it.

 

Saturday

This is what my driveway looked like, at least the sun was trying to melt some of it!  I never did get a snow shovel after last year and that was a big mistake!  The only thing I had was a broom.  It helped push some of the snow out of my way.  I did actually get onto the road, drove around the block and was able to get back in my garage.  I spent the day watching Christmas movies on Netflix and finished wrapping the few Christmas gifts I still had left.  I was bored out of my mind!!

I am still bored out of my mind but at least I had some things I could do to get ready for my work week.  Hopefully I can still get out of my driveway in the morning.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Worked and I got 2 really cute scrub jackets and I've been trying to find pictures of them online but am not having any luck!  All well!!

Saturday
YAY!!!!  Today is the day of the 80's party!  I slept in and got ready because I just wasn't completely satisfied with my shirt and wanted to keep looking and I found a great one with a matching jacket and shoes(and massive shoulder pads of course)!!!  We had a blast before the party even started just getting ready!!  I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story!

We all had so much fun!!  As you can see my yellow heels match but my toes are bruised from those darn shoes!  Niki's aunt did our hair and makeup for us and I'm pretty sure we had the best hair out of all the girls!!  Some of the guys had us beat but that's because they had wigs! 

Sunday

I stayed at Niki's just because after we got back from the party we started talking about haunted houses and a scary doll at a cemetery...I was then scared and decided I would just stay there instead of at my apartment by myself!  HA!!  After we got going later today we went to Niki's mom's house for her birthday dinner and cake!  YUM!!  It was snowing and I took these pictures through the window....you can't see the snow falling though.  Well, it was a fabulous weekend and it's off to work tomorrow!!

Snow what!

So what if we get snow, it's not like I get the day off or anything.  Nurses definitely don't get snow days...well maybe I would if I worked in an office instead of a hospital.  Although having the day off is nice....I like my job better!!  I'm not complaining about it, I'm just saying SNOW what!!

Christmas Day

White Christmas!!!  Gerry took me over to Michelle's so I didn't have to drive in the snow.  The girls showed me what they got from "Santa" and then we went up to my Dad's house to celebrate Christmas with him.  We had ham and lots of other stuff including chicken corn chowder and it was so good!!  We ate and then sat around the table and talked for awhile.  Then we passed out gifts and got to unwrapping.  It was a lot of fun and all of us got some very nice things.  I didn't take a single picture....woops. 

I'm pretty sure it was one of the best Christmases I've had in a while.  I got to be home with my family the whole time!!  After we got home from Dad's Michelle took me to Mom & Gerry's and they came in to tell them Merry Christmas.  We ended up eating leftovers and then decided to watch a movie.  The girls had ELF out in the car so we all sat upstairs and watched that.  It was a great ending to Christmas!!  Although, we missed Lindsay & Ty.  I got up this morning and did a little bit of shopping (mostly looking, the only thing I bought was my Mom's birthday present) and then went back and watched a movie on TV before I left to come back to IL.  I put away all my decorations, unpacked, washed bed sheets, cleaned up the kitchen, ironed, sorted through receipts, put my new heated mattress topper on my bed, went to Wal-Mart to buy my Nook but they were out so hopefully I can get one Tuesday.  I still have a lot to do so hopefully I can do some more tomorrow night after work and Tuesday when I'm off.  I hope everybody else had a wonderful Christmas as well!!!  Here's to a very Happy New Year!!!!

Christmas Eve

I was lucky enough to have started a job just 2 weeks ago so I was able to be off for Christmas Eve & Christmas Day and the day after!  I drove home on the 23rd after I got off work and stayed at my parents house.  I got up pretty early Christmas Eve because my nephew is an early riser, to say the least.  We all got ready.  Katie & Mike went on to her family and Me, Mom & Gerry went to pick up the girls and head to my cousin Holly's for Christmas with my mom's side of the family.  It started snowing pretty good while we were there and it was so pretty!!
