The Last Day of My Golden Year

So tomorrow is my 29th birthday, so today is the last day of my "Golden Year" (you know, because I turned 28 on the 28th) and I thought I would do a post about all the great things that happened during my golden year!!
I would have to say my biggest accomplishment this year was passing RN boards!!  I was pretty sure that was going to be the death of me!!  Finally I passed and was so ecstatic to finally be done and get to start my new job!!  I was then able to start my job as a labor and delivery nurse.  My dream job that I had been waiting for my whole life!!
Being the maid of honor in my little sisters wedding was such a blessing!!  She and my mom were amazing and this wedding was perfect!!  We all had a blast and I can't believe she's married now!! 
Had some really great times with friends going to the Carrie Underwood concert (my favorite ever!), getting together with all the girls at Lacy's, went to an 80's themed birthday party and had the biggest, teased out hair ever, spent a weekend in Nashville for Lindsay's bachelorette party, spent the weekend in St. Louis for Andrea's shower and then this summer started the 3 big important weddings I had...which I caught the bouquet at all 3! (Pretty sure I need to quit catching them, I'm thinking I've jinxed myself!)
Then of course there are all the times I've gotten to hang out with my friends and family.  Whether it was for a holiday or just because there was nothing else to do.  Or it was to plan something or just watch TV (my friends let me come watch their satellite because I still only have 1 channel).  Sometimes, it was to workout/walk outside because of course I'm always wanting to lose weight. 
It was a wonderful year and I'm so looking forward to my last year in my 20's (can't believe I'm already saying that...didn't I just graduate college??)

I'm so tired of not being able to sleep in on my days off.  I mean I did sleep till 8 so I guess that is sleeping in when my alarm goes off at 4:40 on the days I have to work!!  Anyway, I watched a little TV then turned on the itunes and went to cleaning.  I will be so happy when I have floors that actually look clean after they're cleaned.  I have this rust colored tile in my bathroom and it never looks clean, so annoying!!  One of these days, one of these days.  Niki called on her way into town and so I met up with her after lunch to do a little grocery shopping.  I bought healthy stuff too because that bridesmaid dress isn't gonna look good on this body I'm sportin' right now!!  Gotta get serious!!  So I came home and took a nap!!  Geez, I'll eventually get my butt back in the gym.  I woke up and got some things together to go to Niki's house.  We played rummikub and it was so fun!!  I'm pretty sure Michael even liked it!!  We played around with my new camera as well, although the pictures aren't so hot!!  HAHA!!  Take a look...

Sunday

Church then ran to Kroger to get a few things I forgot yesterday.  That's what I get for not making a list!!  The weather said it was going to be cloudy and 70 with storms.....well I don't like that, if it's going to be 70 then it should be sunny!!  The drab weather today just made me want to lay on the couch and be lazy....not good.  Although I did do that, I also got my laundry done, put dishes away, made some food and straightened up a bit.  I also had to try to figure out what to wear to the shower next weekend.  I can't believe that it's already going to be next weekend!!  So looking forward to it and getting to see everybody!!  And I'd like to think this weekend ended pretty fabulously!!!!  YAY!!!

On to BIGGER & Better Things

Well, today was my last day at Herrin.  My last day at my first nursing job.  My last day having to do EKG's all day long.  My last day doing an LPN job.

On to BIGGER & better things for sure!

I am so blessed to have had such great co-workers to work with.  They threw me a little going away party and gave me a wonderful card and gift.  Love them!!

Never have to sit here again

I just want to say the biggest THANK YOU to everyone for teaching me so much and being a great first nursing job!!  I promise I'll come back to visit but you can bet I won't come back to do EKG's!!  Carbondale, here I come!!

I've learned that I can cry over pretty much anything

I've learned that I LOVE country music...and singing along

I've learned that my life is only going to get better!
