Woops!

As you can see I messed up my blog!!  I just wanted to change one thing and I ended up messing up everything!  Now I can't get my title or my top picture centered and I still didn't even get to make the one change that I wanted to make!!  So annoying!!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday

I always look forward to Friday mornings because I know it's the day I get to sleep in but this Friday was not one of those.  I was up at the crack of dawn and kept trying to go back to sleep but I couldn't so I just got up!  I went ahead and got ready for the day then headed out to run errands.  I ran by the post office then headed over to Target.  My BFF Niki was there so I met up with her and we made plans for lunch.  Her youngest son ended up getting sick at school so she had to skip lunch.  I went on to Wal-Mart to get groceries and headed home to make chili.  I've been craving chili and since it was going to be cooler this weekend I thought it was a perfect idea.  YUM!  My friend Laryssa called and told me one of our friends was coming into town today and that she was coming over around 2.  I headed over there to chat with them.  Andi just recently got engaged so we spent the whole time talking wedding and holding baby Tenley.

Andi also asked me to be her "Go-to person" on her wedding day!!  I was so excited!!!  It's June of next year and it's going to be so much fun!!  I should be a pro anyway becuase it'll be about a month after Lindsay's wedding!  Around 5 we both left so Laryssa could go to work.  I had plans with Brooke for dinner.  She came and got me and we headed off to Applebee's.  It was just a girls night!!  KJ was too cute!!  We went to Maurice's after that but didn't find really anything worth buying.  They dropped me off and came in for a little bit.  Brooke came and shopped in my closet for something to wear for her date night with her husband.  After they left I headed over to Deana's to watch a movie with her since her husband was out of town for the SIU ball game.  We watched "Letters to Juliet" it was cute but very predictable.  We stayed up till way late talking and finally went to bed around midnight.  FUN FUN FRIDAY!!!

Saturday

I met Deana back at her house and we went to Creal Springs for the Wonder Water Parade.  We met some others there and the kids were so cute!!  I went with Deana to run some errands she had to do.  We hung out with Lindsey for a while.  I had to be at work at the restaurant at 4 so I went home and ate lunch and got ready for work.  It was a pretty fun night at KB's and I actually made some pretty good money!  I came home and watched the last of disc 3 of One Tree Hill then headed off to bed.  I was exhausted!!

Sunday

Got up and headed to church and was surprised how COLD it was outside!!  Then I went to Dollar Tree (like I do every Sunday) to get my newspaper and a few other things.  I also had to go back to Wal-Mart to get some things I forgot on Friday.  I came home and did laundry.  I had double the amount of laundry because I didn't do any last weekend.  It's all done now though and all put away.  I also cleaned up the apartment like I do every Sunday.  I'm starting to see a bit of a routine!!  I hope everybody else had a great weekend as well!!  I can't believe next weekend it will already be October!!

Season 7 of this!!!

I've been watching since the beginning....remember when it was on Sunday nights??  I used to watch this with Janelle when it first started and we lived in our Goreville apartment, I'm pretty sure we had boyfriends that watched it with us although they probably wouldn't admit it!  Then a group of us would get together after we got off work at KB's and watch it usually at Cody & Seth's house on Thursday nights.  Then I watched it by myself because everybody's life just got busy and it just didn't work out where we could all get together.  I was invited to watch it at a friends house tonight but after working 4 days straight this week I told her I might not be very good company!! 

Also, has anybody else looked at the forecast for this weekend???  B-E-A-UTIFUL FALL WEATHER we are going to be having!!

Weekend Wrap-up

Friday
I got to sleep in!!!!  YAY!!!  That made me very happy!  I had quite a bit to do that day and I fit it all in and got to see several of my girl friends while doing it.  I met my friend Brooke and her little boy for lunch at Steak N Shake.  We got our food so fast, we couldn't believe it!  It was yummy!  I then went to Target to get a baby shower gift.  My friend Laryssa was on her way into town for a doctors appointment and met me at Target.  I hadn't seen her or baby Tenley for almost 3 weeks.  I held her all the way through the store, she is just so precious!  After that, I went to help decorate for the shower.  The girls had pretty much done all of it by the time I got there.  We then went to Walmart so they could pick up some last minute shower things.  I went home to change my clothes then headed down to the campground to hang out with my BFF Niki and her family.  This was the first time this year that I had gotten to hang out with them at the campground.

We had a good time but were all very tired and I headed home.  Hopefully get to do it again with them soon!!

Saturday

I got up and got ready for Jaime's shower, wrapped then gifts, then headed to the party shop to pick up the balloons for Niki.  The 3 of us got there early to set up all the food and make sure everything was ready.

The shower went great!!  Everybody loved the food and decorations.  Jaime got lots of great things for baby Jayla.  We all can't wait to meet her!  She's due Thanksgiving day but I bet we meet her before then!!

After the shower I headed home to change my clothes to get ready to cheer on the Salukis.  I met my friend Deana at her house and we headed on to the game.  I get there and Elly was the cutest little cheerleader I had ever seen!!

The stadium was packed!!!  We did the wave around the whole stadium 3 times!!!!  So fun!!!

The Salukis ended up losing the game in the 4th quarter.  This is the 1st regular season home game that we have lost in like 4 years.  It was still really fun and I hope to get to go to a game in October and maybe that one will be cooler because I was sweating the entire time last night!  After the game I hung out with Deana at their house.  We talked and talked and talked, it was so fun!!  Casey finally came home and he hung out with us for a while and when I looked at the clock and saw how late it was I figured I better go home!!  Fun, fun day!! 

Sunday

Church this morning was really nice!!  The reading was from Luke, I really like Luke.  Elly was so cute after church.  Her mom was holding her and she reached for me when they walked outside.  I love it!!!  I came home and cleaned my apartment.  It only took me an hour and a half but I didn't do the bathroom because I hate doing the bathroom.  I do it on a separate day!  I made chicken and dumplins for lunch and I will eating it for dinner too.  Another great weekend!!Hope everyone elses was just as nice!!

It's been a year already

It's been an entire year since I started at the hospital!! I've been through a lot this first year of being a nurse. I'm looking forward to getting over some hurdles that I still have in front of me and move on to the next job. It's going to be another year before I know it and then I can really move on. Who knows what the future holds!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday
I pretty much already did my weekend post because of the reunion but I wanted to do it separately. It was a rainy day and I didn't really want to do anything but I had to go to the mall to find something to wear to my reunion. Nothing like waiting till the last minute! It was a success at least. After my sister Lindsay got off work we went to another bridal shop in search of bridesmaid dresses in the right color! We didn't have much luck but we are hoping there will be some new designs coming out before we have to order. Then we went home and I got ready for the reunion!

Saturday
After we did the tour, I drove back to So Ill for a going away party for a girl I worked with at the hospital. It was at a winery in Carterville called Walkers Bluff. It was beautiful!! I only took 1 picture (see below)

It was a fun time but I was so tired from the night before and then driving 2 hours back. I left about 10 or so and headed home. I had started to watch the movie Valentine's Day before I went to the party and so I finished it when I got home. It was okay......so ready for my season 7 of One Tree Hill to start coming in the mail. The first disc should be here tomorrow!! I want to watch it all before all of the good shows come back on.

Sunday

LAZY LAZY DAY I spent the day cleaning, got groceries, did laundry and watched several movies.....In Her Shoes, Dirty Dancing & Sweet Home Alabama, twice! See....lazy day and I think it's about time for me to go to bed, I have another busy week ahead of me!

Oh, I am so tired of still being hot in my apartment, I'm ready for some nice fall weather!!

WARNING::PICTURE OVERLOAD!!

Well, it's been 10 years since I graduated high school! I can't believe it! We had a great time and I think we had a pretty good turn out. I hope for even better numbers at our 15 year!!

Friday was the actual reunion. Some of us met at a friends house and then went to the football game. It was a rainy, rainy day and very humid (the reason my hair looked the way it did at the bar after the game) so not very many of us actually made it to the game. There were a lot more of us at the bar we decided to go to afterward. It was such a good time. I was nervous going into it but once I got there and saw some old friends I was relaxed and ready to have a good time! Then on Saturday we got to tour the high school. The principal they have now is AMAZING!! She was so upbeat and was really making some great changes to that school. It still smelled the same and mostly looked the same as well. I'm glad we got to do it!!

Labor Day Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday

I went home this weekend for several reasons, I had the weekend off, I was going to housesit and some of my family was coming into town and having a fish fry! I drove home after work on Thursday. I got up Friday morning and did laundry, watched TV and read a lot of my book. It was great!! I also got to eat some dinner with a very good friend from high school. We had GD Ritzy's because I don't ever get to eat there anymore since they don't have them in IL. I hung out with she and her little girl for the rest of the night. I didn't take one single picture!! I'm now seeing this as a trend for this weekend although check out the next 2 pictures.......

Saturday

I got up and ran to the store to get all the ingredients I needed to make this fabulous cake! My friend Brooke gave me a recipe book one year for Christmas with some of her favorite recipes in it. It is one of my most favorite gifts ever!! The recipe for this cake is in there but never in my life did I think I would actually make it, everything is made from scratch!! It's her mom's recipe and Brooke had just made it earlier in the week for her mom's birthday. I love this cake and thought I would make it for the family get together Sunday. I did and it was FABULOUS!!!! It was 3 layers and ended up being so tall the lid to my cake plate wouldn't even fit over it!

After I made the cake I knew I needed to let it cool so I went and layed out for a bit in my parents back yard. It was so nice and I didn't even get hot. Even though it was cool I still got a little bit of a sunburn.

I then washed my car (of course, I had to get the bugs off) and came inside and watched some TV and read some more. I texted my friend Danielle and we ended up hanging out at a house of one of her friends. They had a fire pit in the back yard and we sat around that and talked and ate smores. It was a great night!!

Sunday

Headed over to my Aunt Cindy & Uncle Dennis' house for the fish fry around 1 or so. My cousin Jennifer had come into town for the weekend so it was the first time I got to meet her new baby boy Silas. He was precious!!!

Not a very good picture, I'm blaming it on the sun!! It was a great day with great food and family. I left pretty soon after we ate because I needed to get back to So. IL at a decent time to get ready for my work week. Well decent time ended up being almost 8p.m. I then went down to Niki's to finish some baby shower invitations for our friend Jaime who's having a little girl soon!!

We thought they turned out pretty darn cute!! It's her 2nd little girl so we didn't do the traditional pink baby girl theme, instead we're doing a little pumpkin theme with fall colors.

Well, my labor day working was very very busy!!!! I'm sure all the ER's were busy today with Dr.'s offices not being open. Here's to tomorrow being nice and slow!!

P.S. Everybody is talking about putting out fall decor.......mine is up!! Took all of about 3 seconds, my pumpkin welcome sign that hangs on my door. I will decorate more when I live in something bigger than a crackerjack box!!

Weekend Wrap-Up (a little late)

I know, I'm super late on posting this weekends post but I've been busy....more on that tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed for good news but highly doubting that's what I'm gonna get. So Friday I had a busy day! My friend Laryssa sent me a message asking me what my day looked like because she had the feeling she was going to become a new momma today and I was very excited for her!! So, it was the gym, then errands and lunch with Niki, then ran by the hospital to see Laryssa and then to work for an extra shift I picked up. I brought sugar cookies (made by Niki) to work and they were a huge hit....of course I knew they would be! I was getting text messages the entire time keeping me updated on Laryssa. I was scheduled to get off at 9 and was really hoping I would make it to the hospital before she had her but that didn't happen. I got there not too long after though and finally got to meet this beautiful little girl below!!

So on Saturday, I got up very early to go work at KB's. It was nice to work at the restaurant again and I got to see a lot of customers. After that, I went by my hair salon for their open house and got a few free goodies! I came home to try to lay down for a bit and take a nap before studying a little but that didn't really happen. Most of the day was gone by now....I decided I needed to go see baby Tenley again. I texted Laryssa and went up there and visited with them for a while and cuddled Tenley. I went to pick up some food for them and brought it back. I definitely stayed way longer than I should but how can you leave this precious little face!!

Sunday, I got up and went to church then came home to do more test questions. That evening I was invited over to Brooke's house for a wienie roast and smores. Unfortunately, it came a down pour and we ended up with hot dogs cooked on the stove and smores made in the oven with the broiler. We still had a blast and ate too much!! No pictures were taken......except for the ones Kelley Jo took with my camera, mostly grass and her fingers!

I'm ready for a change and hopefully that will come tomorrow......I'll post the news then.
