Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday

I was up earlier than normal today because I went to bed so early the night before.  I met Niki & Ryker out to do a little shopping and get lunch.  I met up with some other friends for dinner and I finally got chips and salsa that I had been craving!!  We had a little girls night after. 

 

Saturday



I got up early so I could get my things together to go to Evansville for the night.  Maddie and Kelsey's Christmas dance had to be rescheduled because of the snow we got in the beginning of December and the dance was tonight.  I wanted to be there to see them.

We sat around and talked at Michelle's for a while but we were so tired, we headed home soon.

Mom made breakfast for all of us and some of their friends.  Maddie came with Michelle and she seemed to have a good time at her first formal dance.  I still can't get over how darn old she looked!  Just makes me feel old!!

 

Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday
I was scheduled to work today but was on standby for most of the day.  I was not feeling well at all the past two days and the extra sleep helped me.  I woke up from that extra couple hours of sleep and felt much better although, food still didn't sound good.  I met Niki out so I could sit with the sleeping baby in the car while she got some grocery shopping done since we were expecting some snow and super cold weather this weekend.  We finished up shopping and then went to hang out at her house.  I got caught up on SOA since they were ahead of me.

I wasn't planning on going anywhere today so I watched more SOA and waited for the bad weather to get here.

Sunday
It was still raining when I got up a little before 8 but it quickly switched to an icy mix then snow.  At least I was able to get all of my Christmas decorations and tree put away and my house back to normal.  Every year I want to decorate more and more and then when I have to put it away I'm kicking myself for putting so much out! 

A little hot chocolate was called for on this snowy cold day!

This was on Monday when I headed to work that next morning!  Way to cold for me!!

New Years

Oh New Years Eve.....every year, we always talk about how next year we're gonna actually make plans early, well that never happens!!  This year we had plans for dinner and then were just gonna all hang out and play cards.  So many of us ended up being sick or babysitter sicks that we just cancelled plans.  I still went to my best friends house and we did some last minute shopping and got food to make for her family and me and then planned a Sons of Anarchy marathon for us!!  The boys did not partake in this because SOA is definitely not kid friendly!!

Merry Christmas

We always spend Christmas Eve Eve at my parents house and it is my favorite day!!  Lately, we always do pizza and breadsticks for supper then we have punch and cookies for dessert.

I got pretty new earrings and I love them!!!

We spent Christmas Eve at my grandparents house.  I didn't take any pictures but I did take this picture a week or so ago when I wore the same leggings.  Love them!!

We all missed having Lindsay & Ty there but they have to spend time with his family too.  Me and Michelle and the girls went back to our parents house to watch a movie after we went to Target for a little bit.  It's starting to be a tradition!

On Christmas day, Michelle, the girls and I went to the movies (along with about a million other people).  I had been craving popcorn so bad and it was so good!!!  We saw "Saving Mr. Banks" and it was so so good!!! 

 

Mom and I got up super early the next day to do some shopping and we got some really great deals!!!  My favorite deal we found was this ceramic Christmas tree.  My mom had one just like this when I was a little girl that she made in ceramics class but had gotten rid of. 

Weekend Wrap-Up (Dec. 20-22)

Friday

Last night, I went to a small concert with a friend from work.  Easton Corbin!!!  We stood the whole time and there were annoying girls in front of us but it was still fun. 

Tonight, I had a Christmas party to go to that was rescheduled from earlier in the month.  An ugly Christmas sweater party!!  I had all kinds of ideas on what to wear but then I never made anything and tried to do something last minute and it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to so I just ended up borrowing a sweater from a friend!!

I got up and drove home for all the Christmas celebrations!!  I went to my nieces basketball game and then headed home to get ready for Christmas as my little sisters house.

Weekend Wrap-Up (Dec. 13-15)

Friday

I came home for the weekend for cookie day and my oldest niece was going to a dance.  My parents and I went to dinner on Friday night at a local mexican place they love!!  Mom and I sharing margaritas!  It was a fun night!

Saturday

Lindsay and I did a little Christmas shopping together then went back to our parents house to see Kelsey off to the dance.

We all got up early and started working on the cookie baking.  We made the most cookies we have ever made this year!!  It was over 900!!!  I didn't take near enough pictures.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday

So the ice started yesterday, going for about 12 hours, then the snow started.  I woke up to about 6 inches of snow and it wasn't stopping anytime soon.  I was so glad I got to go to my nail appointment yesterday and my hair appointment that was scheduled for today got moved to yesterday.

So that night I thought about trying to get to my friends house.  I was able to back down my driveway and that was it.

This is what my driveway looked like, at least the sun was trying to melt some of it!  I never did get a snow shovel after last year and that was a big mistake!  The only thing I had was a broom.  It helped push some of the snow out of my way.  I did actually get onto the road, drove around the block and was able to get back in my garage.  I spent the day watching Christmas movies on Netflix and finished wrapping the few Christmas gifts I still had left.  I was bored out of my mind!!

I am still bored out of my mind but at least I had some things I could do to get ready for my work week.  Hopefully I can still get out of my driveway in the morning.

Weekend Wrap-Up (Nov 29- Dec 1)

Friday

Thanksgiving was my holiday to work so I worked all day yesterday.  We were actually pretty busy early on in the day trying to get as many patients home as we could.  Once late afternoon came, we were able to relax and wait for the evening rush!  I wasn't expecting to be on standby today but as luck would have it, they called and I accepted!!  I was already up and getting ready so I headed out of the house about 6:30.  When I got to Target this is what was playing in my car....

It wasn't too busy at this time because most stores had been open since 8pm the night before.  I ran into my BFF Niki and her MIL shopping.  It has been an annual thing for them to shop on Black Friday together.  We planned on meeting up for lunch together later.  I continued shopping and ran across this...

If I had a niece this small I totally would have bought it...or if it came in a big enough size for one of my sisters or my mom!!  HA!!  They are crazy cat people!!

I went on to Carbondale to shop some more.  I got lots of deals and maybe a few things for myself.  I was planning on bringing my old Christmas tree to work with me for a lady who needed one so I called her and met her in the parking garage to give it to her.  I then went to meet Niki to eat lunch at Chili's and they had a drink but I just drank water because I was on call at the hospital.  Afterwards, I went to Barnes & Noble to look for a certain book then back to Kohl's because I forgot to use my coupons earlier.  The line at this time was almost wrapped around the store.  Niki was there so I went ahead and got in line while they shopped.  We took turns back and forth to get our shopping done.  Everyone in line was so nice, one of the husbands even went and got a bag and brought it back for me!!  The Christmas spirit was in the air!!  I headed back to Marion to finish up some shopping and then went home.  I ended up going to a friends house and watched The Great Gatsby, it was really good!!

The weather was beautiful today!!  It didn't feel like it was almost December.  I put some lights outside and made my wreath for the door.  I had seen a picture on Pinterest (of course) of one you could buy and I thought I could make it.  I bought all kinds of stuff at Hobby Lobby yesterday and started putting it together. 

I was so happy with how it turned out.  I'm still gonna try to find a more whimsical letter K.

I headed down to Niki's to eat at her Mom's house.  She made another Thanksgiving dinner and I was so excited to eat it.  They fed us turkey and such at work but it wasn't the same.  Yum!!  It was so good!!

Weekend Wrap-Up (Nov22-24)

Friday

So this would be the second day I spent at Niki's with her boys.  They were out of town, so her mom and I took turns with the boys.  On Thursday night, I took the older boys to drum lessons for one and baseball hitting lessons for the other.  It had been rainy and cold all day and the parking lot was a mess.  This is the mess that was in my car the next day.  The oldest one felt so bad!!  Bless his heart!!

Saturday
They stayed with her mom that night and I went back the next morning to get them and have lunch.  We came back to their house and the big boys went to a friends house so it was just me and the little one!!

We went up to the church later that evening to eat dinner and then I went to get the big boys.  They stayed with mamaw again that night.  He slept so much better there than with me!!

Sunday

I went over there to eat brunch with them and then brought to boys home with me.  This is the face I got when someone didn't get a long enough nap!!

I'm thinking someone was missing mommy pretty bad at this point!!

They got home that evening and the boys were so happy to see them.  We all ate some pizza and went through all their free stuff from the expo.  I went home to crash!!!

I got up and ran some errands.  Niki and I of course did some shopping.  I got this new mascara thanks to Kate at TheSmallsThingsBlog.  I love it!!!  The brush is amazing!!!

 

Saturday

I was going through Kiki La'Rue's instagram account looking for outfit ideas and I LOVE LOVE LOVE these 2!!  Niki bought me that Lenore scarf so I have that, but the heather gray essential is sold out every time I go to order it. 

And this outfit, I ordered the navy leggings and I got a sweater from Target, then with the Lenore scarf and the boots I already have....tada....my version of this outfit!!

 

Sunday

A bad storm passed through, but luckily, we didn't have any damage around here.  My friends and I made plans to all be together today, it's been a year since Chad passed.  Mike & Niki had everybody over at their house for dinner.  We had lasagna, salad, garlic bread, wine and lots of desserts.  It was a nice time, I'm glad we were all able to be together.
