No more pity party

Ok, so the last post was definitely a pity party (as my mom says) so I deleted it and I'm over it!

Just because I failed boards doesn't mean I'm never going to be an RN, it just means I have to wait longer. Story of my life, ya know?!?! But like everybody has said, I'm going to blink and it's going to be time to take them again so that's what I'm looking forward to. Not actually looking forward to taking the test, just passing it!!

Birthday yesterday was a good day! Myself and some friends went out saturday night and had a good time. I got to hang out with Brooke & Josey's kids friday and Brooke made me cupcakes and gave me flowers and a card. I went to Joni's house sunday for family fun day. It was super hot but so much fun! Yesterday Niki & I went to lunch and did some shopping, well we went to Target and Wal-Mart.....haha, still shopping!! I got a ton of facebook messages and text messages and phone calls and cards wishing me a happy birthday!! It was very much appreciated!!

I definitely should have blogged before this because I had a job interview on June 18th for a position that I have been wanting since I started nursing school back in 2007, well actually my entire life!! I interviewed and they called me about 20 minutes after I got home and offered me the job, of course I accepted!! It's a full time postion as a labor and delivery nurse at Carbondale!! I couldn't believe it!! I was very excited to say the least.

GRADUATE 2010

YAY!!!! As of last friday, I am a 2010 graduate with an Associate degree in Nursing!! YAY!!! I only had one final to take and was studying my butt off so I could get an 81% on the final. I was like a hermit for a good week or so before that tuesday I had the final. I still didn't feel prepared that morning when we were all sitting in the hallway going over the notes one more time. To make things worse, our teacher was late. I am a nervous wreck and she is LATE!! I was freaking out even more! So she gets there, we all spread out, she goes over some things to finish up school and then finally passes out the test. I read the first question and know it, so on and so on......out of 58 questions I had 9 that I went back to and had to reread to pick my answer. I figured out that even if I missed those 9 questions I would still get an 83% on the final and pass. I finally turn it in, my teacher asks me how I think I did and I walk out. I head to work, totally freaking out still and pray that I did ok. I sat at work for a while and decide to check to see if grades were up even though she said it would probably be late afternoon or early evening. Of course, they weren't. So, I wait about an hour and figure I'll check again, this time it says I have a new grade, I click, it opens up and

95%.....I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!

I went running over to one of the nurses I work with and told her, jumping up and down then proceeded to call everyone I needed to let know. I WAS SO EXCITED!!!!! It was a really great day and I'm so happy to be done with school. The next 4 days of this week is board review and then I'll schedule my boards!!

Vacation....It's a Beautiful Thing!!!!

Michelle and I decided to get up early on the last day there to try to catch the sunrise and this is the best we got...Mom said we left too soon because it ended up being beautiful!! So, this is the end of our trip. We had a blast and can't wait to do it again in 2 years. Next year we're gonna skip because of LINDSAY & TY'S WEDDING!!!!

A Benefit for Heather Ann

Saturday night the OBC put on a benefit dinner to raise money for Hope for Heather. It was in St. Wendel at the Knights of St. John. We had dinner then there was a band, silent auction and half pot. We had a great time dancing the night away although I should have worn different shoes! Towards the end of the night they drew the ticket for the half pot and I WON!!!! I was very excited!!! It was a great night!!

A baby.....

So I'm watching the View this morning and it was a day of hot topics. One of the hot topics was that women's eggs are 90% gone by the time they are 30! I wanted to cry! I'll be 28 this year and to think that my chances of having a baby are going to be so small by the time I meet somebody and get married makes me so sad! I've wanted a baby my entire life and to have a problem getting pregnant when I finally meet somebody I want to have a baby with is just my luck! You people know me and it really is just my luck!

Then I'm watching Bonnie Hunt and the lady that wrote "Eat Pray Love" ( I think that's who it was) was on the show and she's talking about how women who get married are less successful, die younger, tend to weight 10 pounds more and so on and so on than women who aren't married!! Then it's the opposite for men. Married men are more successful, live longer, make more money etc than men who are single! Isn't that crazy!!

Well, one of these days I will be happy and things will fall into place..........right?

The weather and work is ....

MESSING UP ME TRYING TO BE A RUNNER!!!

I like working all this overtime that is coming available but it keeps me from having a day off and so I'm not able to run outside b/c it's dark when I get home.

Then the weather is cold, sleety, snowy and rainy....not conditions I want to be running in!!

I think I'll go back to tanning and working out there....inside and I get to tan! I think that's much better than dealing with the weather outside! And I can either go after work if I work day shift or before work if I work my regular shift! It's sounding better and better!

Could I become a runner?

So I found this girls blog and one of her posts was about running, a "how to" sort of blog. So I wrote it down and I'm gonna try it!!

This started b/c, of course, I can't seem to lose this weight I keep gaining b/c I'm not exercising in any way. I wanted to join the gym but $44.99 a month after signing a 2 year contract is not something I can do right now. I wish that I could join so I can go to the classes but right now I can't so......running it is!! Free and gets me outside....the only thing is it's still rather COLD and if it isn't cold it has been raining......let's hope the weather gets nicer soon and I can try this 10 week running thing!! I would like to lose 15 lbs. I can do it!! It seems attainable, right?

The Bachelor

So I want to be on The Bachelor.....which picture do you think I should send out of the 2 above?? HAHA!!! Anyway, I really do and several people told me I should. I told them that I would have to look much better in a bathing suit than I do now so hopefully by the time vacation gets here I will look AWESOME in a bathing suit and I can send some pictures in!! I know that sounds hilarious but hey a girl can dream can't she!!

Forgetting my age....

Yes, I am forgetting how old I am....I keep thinking 28!! No, I'm only 27! I'm not trying to rush this year by any means but I keep thinking I'm 28!! Haha!! Anyway, it will be here soon enough I'm sure!!

So, we're supposed to be getting this "snow storm" tonight and you can definitely tell that by the crowds at Kroger and Walmart!! As I was talking to my mom this afternoon, she asked if I had food just in case the storm was bad....yep, sure do!! Bread, milk, eggs, cheese, peanut butter, frozen pizza!! I think that should at least not let me starve....haha! I really think it's funny that everybody says that they have to have bread, milk and eggs.....like those are the only things we eat when we get snowed in!! I guess they are just important!

1. Blog more often (reasonable)

2. Lose ?? pounds by vacation (any pounds lost would do)

3. Study more, procrastinate less (school wise that is)

4. More 31 parties (double hostess benefits this month.....wink wink)

5. Cook more at home (even if it is just for me!)

Ok so now that those are written out let's see how well they work out! It's been a long time since I have written so I will try to catch up now.

New years eve - Spent with friends and had a fabulous time!! We played just dance on the Wii, it was hilarious....here are some pictures from that!

I worked Christmas day, first time I have ever had to work on Christmas day. It didn't really feel like it was even a holiday. I read almost an entire book at work that day!! Christmas eve and Christmas eve eve I got to spend at home with my family. It was really nice!!

The only final I had to take was on tuesday the 15th and I was so stressed about it!! It went very well for me and it should have because I studied my BUTT off for it!! I GOT A 95!!! YAY!! On to next (my last) semester.....the end is near!!!

The hospital Christmas party was the second weekend in December. We all had a really good time at the party and then went on to a bar across the road to dance and sing some karaoke. I also won a $100 at the party, I was so excited!!

The weekend before that some of us girls from college (and high school) got together at Lacy and Jason Boling's new house for a get together that we are hopefully going to make an annual thing.
