New Job

Well, as most of you all know I got a new job! I've been working for 3 weeks and I love it! I have seen lots of stuff and I only see it getting worse. There are so many people coming in with flu symptoms....it's crazy! I got my flu shot and I'm drinking plenty of juice, getting my vitamin C. Did you know cranberry grape juice has a 100% of your daily vitamin C? AND its so good!

I guess I don't have much to say.....woops! All well short blog! I'm sure there will be a longer one soon!

So it's been a whole month....

So school has started, had my first test, got a B!! Yeah! Went on a couple of interviews one at the ER in Herrin and one at the OB in Carbondale. I found out about the second week of September that I got the job at the ER in Herrin!! I was very very excited! It's a full time position working 7p to 7a. Kind of worried about that just because I have been working days full time at the restaurant and this is the complete opposite! I started orientation Tuesday the 22nd and will actually start my "job" next wednesday! I will keep you all updated!

Other than that.....the infamous "wedding day" was this past saturday. I got through it thanks to WONDERFUL family and friends and now I'm moving on.

Also, I got my furniture over the weekend so I now feel like this is actually my house now! It's so nice to get to come home and sit on a couch instead of the floor. I need to clean up then take pictures so I can post them on here. Everything that I wanted to do and get for the apartment I have, once again, thanks to my wonderful friends!

What would I ever do without all these people I have that care about me I will never know! I am very lucky and am now starting to feel like I can be happy again. I am also very excited about all the good things that are starting to happen in my life. I am going to feel normal again really soon!!!

Also....I went to hang out with Deana and baby Elly tonight and she was laughing and smiling so much! It made my day!! She is the sweetest baby! And her mom is pretty fabulous as well, I am so lucky that we are still so close!

I passed boards!!!

I PASSED PN BOARDS!! I AM NOW AN LPN!!!! YEAH!!

I was rather nervous because the minimum amount of questions the computer will give you is 85 so as I was hoping I would just go a little over that and be good. Well, the computer shut off at 85 so I was freaking out, I thought for sure I had failed. Come to find out most people who get 85 had passed and that's all the computer needed me to take. I had a job interview on thursday and I have another interview tuesday. I'll let you know how they go!

Also, pictures of the apt are still to come...I just shampooed carpets so I should be able to get my furniture now and I am still needing to put up different shelving in my closet in my bedroom before that room can be organized. It is coming together though!

I got an......

APARTMENT!!! Yeah!!! I hope this isn't premature b/c she hasn't actually called yet to tell me when I can move in but hopefully it will be tomorrow! I am so so so excited to have my own place! Don't get me wrong I 100% appreciate Mike and Niki for letting me stay with them all summer (way longer than what we were both expecting) but I am so ready to have my own place! Let me tell you, living out of your duffel bags is rough, although I was very lucky to have a closet to hang up my clothes. I am so excited to have a dresser again and I will be able to put my makeup on the counter in my bathroom (although I don't think it actually has a counter, pretty much just a sink) but all well I don't care....it will be mine!! As soon as I get in and settled I will post some pictures...its small so there will just be a few...haha! I don't care, I am SO EXCITED!!

It is coming just in time too. I start back to school August 20th. I just have to go one day a week so it's not gonna be that bad. I also scheduled my boards for next wednesday at 2:00 so keep your fingers crossed please! I am starting the studying tonight. I'll let you know how it goes!

So, for an update on Heather. She is improving everyday. They are wanting her to be able to swallow well so they can take the trach out. They are giving her different medications to help her wake up some more and one of the meds she is getting is making her have an allergic reaction so they are giving her benadryl for that. I think that is kinda funny b/c benadryl knocks most people out and they are giving her something to help wake her up! Sounds like they are doing things that are counteracting! Everybody keep praying....it's working!

House Sitting - Dog Sitting - Restaurant Sitting

So this week I am staying at Michelle and Kevin's house while they are on vacation. So far it has been great except for the fact that the dog barks at everything and also at all times of the day or night!!! I have been woken up both nights I have been here between 2 and 3 in the morning by her barking at something! Who knows what! Other than that it has been pretty nice.....definitely ready to find myself an apartment!! The restaurant part hasn't been too bad, I kinda like being the boss! haha!

I went to hang out with Brooke and the kids today for a little bit b/c it was my day off. I love hanging out with her but unfortunately it doesn't happen often enough anymore.

Also, the job interview I had last week, I found out today I didn't get the job. Try, try, try again!

It's July already....

I thought for sure by July I would have my own place to live! And there wouldn't be this much rain....it's crazy! I am on the waiting lists for the apartments that base your rent on your income but like I said, they're waiting lists. Hopefully one will open up soon...keep your fingers crossed please!

Some of us went to Blue Sky winery yesterday to get out and celebrate Niki's birthday, which is monday. It was beautiful and so much fun! I had never been there before. Then we went to Fujiyama to eat....amazing! Niki tried sushi for the first time....it was very good!

I came home today to see Heather Ann. She is still in a coma I guess you would say even though they have taken her off the medicine to keep her in one. She can take as long as she needs to come back to us just as long as she does! Her hair is already growing in, but she still looks like Heath when I look at her from her left side. Everybody has done so much and it is so appreciated. She is on so many prayer lists and so many people have joined her group on facebook, it is amazing! I am sure the bracelets will be gone in no time!

Like I said....it's july already, school will be starting soon. I'm not sure if I'm ready to go back. I'm gonna be "the girl who didn't pass" great huh?!?! I did have a job interview last week for an LPN job so hopefully that will work out. I think it would be good for me, it's a doctor's office so I think I would like it. Any experience is good experience! (I will try to post pictures from the weekend later on this week)

As most of you know Dawson has been in the hospital for over a week. We found out friday that he has HUS Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome. The way they explained it to us is that it is the worst form of E. Coli you can get. I looked it up on the internet and it looks like Dawson had a textbook case! He has had to have 2 blood tranfusions because his platelets keep falling and has been on dialysis every hour since he came out of surgery friday night. I went to see him on Sunday. It was my birthday but he kept asking where I was and wanted me to come up there so I got ready and started driving. I had to call Lindsay and have her get me directions to get to the hospital b/c it didn't even dawn on my that I had no idea where I was going! Thanks Linds! He had a rough day that day, he didn't like taking his pain medicine b/c he would throw up right after he took it and the pain just got to bad. They are giving him zofran for the nausea now and he's getting codeine mostly for the pain but also tylenol and morphine but the codeine is working best. He's a trooper! Niki made him a carepage. The website is http://www.carepages.com/carepages/dawsoncloud She is trying to keep it updated everyday. You can also go to the Barnes hospital website and send e-cards. They print them off and bring them to him, I thought that was such a great idea! I only cried one time when I was sitting there talking to him so I walked out...Niki was like "she cries over everything!" It's just sad seeing him like that! The doctor came by and patted me on the arm and said "Mom having a rough day" and I was like "I'm not mom" then as I was leaving I gave Niki a hug and the nurses were walking in and they said "is that your sister?" to Niki....we evidently look alike!

UPDATE!

Ok, time to update!
Yes, I am still living in IL and will be till I finish school next spring now. Then I will probably still be there another year after that to work out my contract I have with SIH. I am ok with this for the time being. I am doing better now and know that I will be fine living here.
I still have my sad days and it's sometimes rough but I try not to spend to much time by myself and that helps a lot. The time in the car is usual the hardest b/c my radio doesn't work so all I do is think. I try to talk on the phone to make the time pass quicker!
I am in the process of trying to find a place to live....it is slim pickens when you can't afford anything! haha...I am trying!
I have applied for an LPN job at Herrin hospital and I'm just waiting to here from them to set up an interview. Hopefully that will work out soon! School starts in august and I just have to take one class so hopefully I will able to work a lot!
My Birthday is in a week....27....whoa! It's hard to believe I'll already be 27....so much was supposed to be done by now. Craziness!

A New Start

So I just talked to mom and she informed me that I probably needed to get rid of my old blog...so I just started a new one!! Don't have much time now to update what all is going on but I will try to soon!
