Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday
I spent most of the morning shopping with my friend Niki then we went to lunch at Red Lobster.  Oh so good!  I had bought an outfit at Maurices.  I got this in bark, this in pristine & these crazy patterned tights.  I tried to find them online but was unable to.  Well, I came home and tried the outfit on with my boots and laughed at myself in the mirror.  I immediately took it off and returned it all to the store.  I had spent like $54 on the outfit so I was definitely getting my money back if I wasn't wearing it.  So I went to Target for the 2nd time this morning and was hoping they still had a dress that I had seen there a month or so ago.  Well I didn't see it but there were several others.  I picked them up in my size and went to check the clearance rack for the dress I came looking for but instead found this gorgeous purple dress for $7.28!!  It was the first one I tried on and didn't even try the others on because who can pass up a $7 dress!  Love it!!  You'll see it in Saturday's post!!  I also got a little more Christmas shopping done.  Okay, so then I went to the ER Christmas party at Tracy's house.  So fun!

 Saturday

I didn't do a whole lot today.  It was raining and I don't like to get out in the rain unless I have to.  The hospital Christmas party was at 6 tonight so I just did some things around the apartment till it was time to get ready and also watched some more Glee season 1.  Lovin' that show!  The rain stopped by the time I went to leave for the party which made me very happy.  The party was a blast although I didn't win money like I did last year.  After the party was over we all went to Teddy's to do some more dancing!!

Sunday

My Sunday was spent indoors because our little dusting of snow turned into more than that and the wind was CRAZY!!!

I made myself breakfast and watched Sex & the City.  Then I made sugar cookies and iced them and watched Sex & the City again.  I'm pretty sure I watched Sex & the City 3 times today somehow.  I love that movie and want to be Carrie or at least have her shoes and handbags!!  Then I put in the first season of One Tree Hill because I love that show!  It's days like today that I wish I had a washer and dryer because I could have done so much laundry...one of these days!  Hope everybody had a great weekend, family Christmas festivities start next weekend and I start my new job tomorrow!!

Christmas Cards

I'm sure everyone in Blog land has already done this but it's the last day and I wanted to join in.  This year Shutterfly is giving away 50 free Christmas cards to bloggers!!  How awesome is that!!  I checked it out and these are the ones that I picked...

On to BIGGER & Better Things

Well, today was my last day at Herrin.  My last day at my first nursing job.  My last day having to do EKG's all day long.  My last day doing an LPN job.

On to BIGGER & better things for sure!

I am so blessed to have had such great co-workers to work with.  They threw me a little going away party and gave me a wonderful card and gift.  Love them!!

Never have to sit here again

I just want to say the biggest THANK YOU to everyone for teaching me so much and being a great first nursing job!!  I promise I'll come back to visit but you can bet I won't come back to do EKG's!!  Carbondale, here I come!!

My role models are my mom, and all 3 of my sisters.  My mom raised me to be a strong independent woman who I hope makes her proud!!  My oldest stepsister Katie has such a great work ethic but still manages to be an awesome Mom and wife, I hope I'm that great one day!  My next oldest sister Michelle has more determination than most people I know who is a great Mom to the greatest girls I know!!  My little sister Lindsay can do no wrong and will always be the baby to everyone, I hope I can be as creative as her one day!!  Love you all!!

Talents, talents.....not so sure what talents I could list here but how about making hair bows, I just recently learned how to do that.

Day 20 ~ A Hobby
My hobbies include blogging, used to be reading, working out when I take the time to go, baking, making hair bows, making cards and watching movies (that's a hobby, right?)

Day 21 ~ A Recipe
This is a recipe I got from my best friend Niki and I'm pretty sure every time I make it and take it somewhere somebody asks me for the recipe.  So here it is:
Niki's Cheeseball
1 package of cream cheese softened
2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
1 pack of Hidden Valley Ranch Dip mix
Mix the cream cheese and ranch together then add all but about 1/2 cup of the cheese.  Form into a ball and cover with remaining cheese, serve with townhouse crackers!! 
Easy as can be and it's a hit every time!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Thursday-This was the start of my weekend
I headed to Evansville this morning to do some shopping and then went to see Carrie Underwood!!!!  She is my FAVORITE!!!  The concert was so great I just wish I had a better camera so I could have gotten some better pictures.

 Friday

I was Betty Crocker this morning doing all kinds of Christmas cookies and other stuff to take to our girls get together tomorrow at Lacy & Jason's.  I did a little more shopping then went with Lindsay to try on a bridesmaid dress that I'm pretty sure she had decided on.  We loved it!!  We then went to Maddie's 12th birthday party. 

Saturday

Got up early and got ready then went to Danielle's to get she & Lindsay to head down to Paducah.  We packed up the mustang and started on our 2 hour drive.  We got there and Madelyn came running to open the door and just started talking up a storm to us!  It was so cute!!!  Janelle & Darren Layne got there next and he was being so shy!  He warmed up to us a little later.  Becca, Todd & the girls got there next and they went right to playing with Madelyn's kitchen.  Then Sara, Jon & the boys got there.  We ate practically the whole time we were there.  There is always so much food and it is all so good!  This year we decided to do a dirty Santa gift exchange, we had fun with that!!  The kids played the whole time!!  There were 9 adults there and last year when we got together Jason wanted to teach us how to play bunco but we didn't have enough people so we got to do it this year.  Bunco is so fun!!  We all had such a great time, I wish we could do it more often!

Sunday

Slept in just a little bit then woke up to some snow!!  I went to my niece's basketball game.  She won!!  I went back to my parent's house to get my stuff together and head home.  I watched a movie, then some more of Glee season 1 and now I'm watching my Sunday night shows.  It was a FANTASTIC 4 days!!!
